The Bank Note - February 2021

Connecting with Shareholders of Alliance Bank Central Texas

February 2021

Message from Todd Moore

2020 was a very good year for the bank. If you weren’t able to attend the shareholder meeting in February, please see the linked presentation that highlights our performance. Strategically, we looked back five years to note that Net Income was up 324%. It was approximately $566 thousand in 2015, and swelled to over $2.4 million in 2020. We booked $163 million in loan commitments this past year, up 208% from $53 million in 2015. By increasing checking accounts, we were able to lower our cost of funds and improve margins. That, along with raising non-interest income, produced record earnings for the bank.

In the “Our Relationships and Why They Matter” section of the shareholder report, we articulate how the events of 2020 brought clarity to the importance and benefit of having a personal banking relationship with us. We partner with our customers as trusted advisors. We collaborate as a team, bringing together valuable perspectives based on years of experience. We structure our products to offer solutions and help customers meet their goals. We offer competitive, relationship-based pricing. We stay connected with our customers, and help them make connections as well.

One of the best parts about being a community banker is that you get to meet so many interesting people who take pride in what they do. I enjoy learning about their backgrounds and business stories. Blake Henry, owner of MOTEX Construction, purchased his first cattle herd at age 15!  Read how he and his wife, Regan, have a passion for renovating historic homes and carrying that same quality and detail into custom home building.

“Never give up!”  That’s how Linda describes how she likes to motivate others. She began her career at our bank as a teller and later moved into credit services, where she does a great job supporting our lending staff. Linda describes herself as a loving, passionate and caring person and we could not agree more. Thanks, Linda, for all you do to instill a culture of service in our organization.

And, we would not be seeing these results were it not for our diverse, talented board members. This month we highlight Jeff Wooley. His wealth of training, business experience, character and commitment makes us a better bank. Additionally, I have always thought he looks like the distinguished actor, Bruce McGill. Thank you, Jeff, for your service to our shareholders.

Let us know if we can help you with anything, banking or otherwise!

Meet the Board

The Alliance Bank Central Texas Board of Directors is made up of talented women and men whose  expertise, leadership and valuable contributions have helped make the bank what it is today. Jeff Wooley, CPA, Esq., started his career as a tax specialist. A unique opportunity led him on a path to become chief financial officer, general counsel, president, CEO and shareholder of Allen Samuels Auto Group. The sale of the Auto Group to AutoNation in 2016 marked the largest group transaction that AutoNation had completed to date

Business Spotlight

MOTEX Construction

Blake Henry’s passion for investing started early. The son of bivocational cattle ranchers in Neosho, Missouri, he purchased his first cattle herd at age 15, bought his first farm shortly after, and has been raising cattle and investing in land and rent property ever since. His Missouri roots continue to influence his path today, including the naming of MOTEX, LLC, a combination of his and his wife Regan’s home states, Missouri and Texas
